TM backshell cable gland

In addition to the safe connection of electrical conductors in the connector,the cable feed is of crucial importance for the quality of the overall system. In practice, there is a multitude of requirements which this interface must meet. Using the Toughcon backshell with an integrated cable gland, these requirements can be fulfilled quickly and flexibly.

The advantages over the use of an backshell with an adapter and a separate cable gland are obvious:

  • faster and more secure assembly
  • omission of a sealing point
  • lower number of parts
  • individual solutions with standard parts
  • less installation space

The cable gland is based on the well-known modular system UNI® Dicht (www.pflitsch.de). Using application-specific seal inserts and pressure screws results in individual cable insertion solutions.

A combination of backshells cable gland, seal insert and pressure screw is needed for individual cable integration. For each plug / socket backshells there are up to two “cable glands” as depicted in the lower table. The UNI Dicht number refers to the size of the standard UNI Dicht parts which can be used. Because of the multitude of possibilities, it is not possible to list all seal inserts and pressure screws individually here.
